The fourth Imperial Art coin, struck of 2 Oz of pure 999 silver, in an antique patina finish and decorated with a real azure blue agate inset window, features de Greek civilization and impresses with its detail. The reverse of the coin shows a composition of different architectonical elements related to the featured civilization: the Parthenon, the Acropolis and, surrounding the agate inset, two Caryatid (female-shaped columns) from the Porch of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis, with the name of the coin “GREECE” displayed on the lower part. The obverse features a reconstruction view of the interior of the Parthenon, with a varied reproduction of Greek symbols and ornamentations in high relief over the columns and ceilings, the bust of Plato and with the same azure agate inset. On this side, the inscription with the series name “IMPERIAL ART” is presented on the lower part together with the Queen’s name “ELIZABETH II”, the issuing country “NIUE ISLAND” and the year of issue “2018”. In addition, the symbol of the metal of which it was struck off, the fineness and the Mint of Poland´s mintmark are displayed here. On the centre and on the right, the Ian Rank Broadley´s effigy of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as head state of this commonwealth´s island and the face value “2 DOLLARS” displayed on the top of this side.
The excellent combination of all these architectonical and decorative elements and the use of a special micro engraving technique to achieve the minuteness of detail in high relief, makes this coin another very piece of art and quite simply unique. Finally, this artistic masterpiece comes encapsulated and housed in a special themed elegant box with a Certificate of Authenticity., symbolizing strength and the power of creation and destruction.
